A tough decision for us before DD was born was choosing a car seat and stroller. The one feature I looked for in a stroller is that it has to be lightweight so I can carry it myself. I figured that since I will be traveling with DD alone at times, I’ll need to be able to lift it up myself, taking it in and out of the car. So I wanted a lightweight stroller.
At the same time, I also want a stroller that we can use from birth up to toddler years. We’re trying to be as economical as possible, so we don’t need to purchase a stroller every year. So we chose the Britax B-Agile Travel System.
When DD was a baby, having the car seat snap on and off the base in the car to the stroller was super quick and easy. And the stroller folds in just two simple steps, making every outing very time-efficient:
- Push a gray button on the right side of the stroller to unlock
- Pull the handle on the stroller seat to fold
Opening the stroller is just as easy:
- Click on the latch on the right side of the stroller (next to the gray button used to lock)
- Open the stroller
Now that DD is over two years old, we still use the stroller on outings to the mall or out for a walk. We’ve actually taken it on several trips out of the country, which was wonderful to have since we had a lot of walking during the trips and the seat reclined flat for DD when she napped. And it has definitely held up for the past two years plus. No tears on the seats or the basket underneath and no dents on any of the metal structure. In short, it’s very durable.
Another great feature of this stroller is that it’s so easy to maneuver. When I go out for a walk with DD, often times we see heavy doors that don’t have a door stopper and going in and out can be a little tricky. Thankfully, the stroller can be steered with ease with one hand while the other holds the door. It may seem insignificant to be able to steer a stroller easily with one hand, but time and time again it’s proven to be a great help when you’re already busy trying to move with your little one.
The only downside is that the space between the basket underneath and the stroller seat is a little tight, which makes it difficult to place large things in the basket. Not that the basket itself is small, because it is quite roomy, but it’s just the opening is small. However, I’m not bothered by it since the sides of the basket is made out of these stretchy mesh, which makes a great big opening when pulled. So I just make the habit of placing things into the basket from the sides of the stroller instead of from the back.
Overall, we do not have any regrets purchasing this wonderful travel system due to its great performance, durability with reasonable price. Since our child became a toddler, we had to store the B-safe car seat and purchased a bigger Britax Boulevard car seat to replace it. But the stroller is still in use without any significant wear and tear after more than two years. As you can tell, we trust the Britax brand and we definitely recommend this product.
This review was based on the 2012 product, however as the product is no longer on sale, all the amazon links and photos are linked to 2017 version. They still look similar and we trust that you can only see improvement from the latest version of this product.
